As I walked about the myre in a dark and rainy night
I envisioned lightblue horses and they carried off my sight
by the willows I saw tiny shiny beings dancing circles on the ground
and above me moving shadows with a winglike flapping sound
while the wind was gently howling
and the mists turned round and round
everywhere I heard their calling oh I felt their cooling touch
voices blowing past my shoulders whilst the rain was whipping such
and they called from all directions
creatures of undine perfections
while the wind was gently howling
and the mists turned round about
soon I lost my sense of space, of up and down and left and right
and the beauty of the sightings was beyond me in my fright
childhood tales began their murmurs of a heroine who no luck found
having been too careless, in the swamp of trivia she drowned
while the wind was gently howling
and the mists turned round and round
but another voice kept singing and it rose above the storm
with a melody as buzzing as a huge mosquito swarm
while the smallest flying creatures shone their lights, enabeling my steps
with stories rising of a hero saving beetles, flies and even wasps
as dark threats were gently lurking
over insects trapped on ground
then I knew my path was found:
to leave behind a maze within a swamp
you need the aid of creatures who belong there,
for they know all the twists and turns
when lying winds are gently howling
and lulling mists are swirling round
that's what I came to tell tonight
with raindrops tampering my sight
you won't believe it
~
or you might!
