WHAT IS THE SHAMAN`S WAY?
"A shaman is someone who walks the path of the heart. A shaman understands their true nature,and lives it by consciously creating his or her reality. "

Once you have opened these doors, there is no turning back. You must be prepared to complete the training, for there are no immediate realisations. It is a journy that you have promised to undertake, and I have agreed to teach to you. Our life`s promise is about to be played out. I am the teacher, and you are my apprentice,and there are some rules that you must abide by. Do not question my judgement. Follow the strict diet that we will prepare for you, and trust that this is your destiny. You will learn to heal using Ayahuasca, and you will be initiated into the Ayahuasquero tradition. This is sacred knowledge. Use it wisely and with respect. For only then will you receive and be able to access its full power. "

BUT I AM STILL UNSURE OF EXACTLY HOW THE AYAHUASCA ASSISTS THE SHAMAN. WHAT IS IT THAT MAKES HER SO POWERFUL?

"No one knows how it works,but something happens to the shaman when Ayahuasca is taken consistently,and over a period of time. We believe the cells within the body change. Ayahuasca has the magical power to wrap itself around each cell, becoming a part of them. Once the medicine becomes one with you,the doorway is open,and the shaman can understand other people`s intentions, thoughts and purposes. This helps the shaman heal even when the patient does not know what is wrong with them. But his process takes time,because the cells have to reach a certain level of purification before the Ayahuasca can merge with them. This is signified in our visions as serpents spiralling around each other.
If the cells were facing their truth as well maybe every part of me was awakening.Body,mind and spirit.

HOW DOES AN AYAHUASQUERO KNOW WHEN THIS HAS HAPPENED?

I am hoping to return to the Amazon in April/May for the first time since I
left (7 years ago) and then take a group out in September.  If this works
out I will take
two groups out a year.  Many people here have asked me to do a Ayahuasca
ceremony here in England but at present the opportunity hasn't presented
itself.

Hun kun altså tenke seg å ha workshop her i Norge. Og for dem som ikke har lest boka så anbefaler jeg på det sterkeste og kanskje allerede senhøst 2006 kan vi få henne over eller i 2007. Hun har mye spennende å lære bort helt sikkert. Har mye erfaringer med Ayahuasca.

Biography

Born in London in 1972, Rebekita graduated with BA (Hons) from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University College London (UCL) in 1996.  Upon completion of her first degree Rebekita was Cultural and Activities Manager in a hotel in Machu Picchu in Peru in 1997 to 1998.  After leaving the hotel she was led to a Master Shaman, became his apprentice, and trained as an Amazonian Ayahuasquero, a traditional rainforest healer.

Following her experiences in Peru, Rebekita became profoundly aware of both the destruction to the environment and poverty in South America. In 1999 she pursued a Masters of Science Degree at SOAS in Development Studies with a thesis on Tourism Development and the Alleviation of Poverty.  This launched Rebekita's compelling need to address the issue on a global stage.

After graduating, Rebekita was employed by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) as Project Manager undertaking all the sustainable development issues within the WTTC, including Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Rebekita became a leading spokesperson on the subject.  She was instrumental in the writing and co-ordination of the Tourism Industry Report, facilitated by United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), which were specifically prepared for inclusion in the official documents to be presented at WSSD.  She also produced a report on the importance of CSR in the travel and tourism industry, as well as a number of other publications. 

In 2003, after attending the WSSD and feeling disheartened by the unsustainable culture of the corporate world, Rebekita left her job in order to find the time to write about her experiences with the Shaman in South America.  Based on her journal, The Shaman’s Last Apprentice was launched in September 2004.

After the launch of her self-published book Rebekita set up the AMARU building fund.  This fund is being generated to assist people developing ethical, fair, and conscious businesses and projects.

Rebekita has also travelled and worked extensively in India, Sri Lanka, South East Asia, Australia, Africa and in both North and South America.  These experiences have given Rebekita profound insights into the environment, culture and the economic effects of globalisation.
