Shamanism is not a religion.

Shamanism is a practise and an understanding of the soul, spirits and the universe.

Religions are cults and Shamanism is an individualistic practise.

Each shaman has his own way of looking at things in the universe which makes it into an individual practise.

I would like you all to comment and assist me in defining the differences between a religion and shamanism.

Thanks in advance and peace be with you.

I find religious leader intolerant towards other faiths, do you?

They tend to believe there faith is only right faith.

Hm.. yeah..

I found out that I want to be totally free. It was my path for a period of time, then I grow out of it.
But I am thankful for the experience I got. :) I made me a better person hopefully..  :innocent2:

I found myself standing there in front of a catholic church in a small village in the Alps thinking of how powerful the christian church used to be with its rules about sin and how to bring fear in to the peoples soul. The christian church do not seem so powererfull anymore in Europe. The people of Europe seem more sceptical to the church and its rules.

Looking at how many churches and cathedral that exist in Europe one can only imagine how powerful the church used to be.

In Stockholm were I live the muslim population is growing raidly and bringing in its fanatical religious beliefs which effects the entire city. Muslim women have a lower status in islam than what we are used to in the western world. The muslim women are forced upon them rules and regulations which makes it hard for them to integrate in to the swedish society. It is hard for a muslim woman to understand the swedish cultures due to the rules that are forced upon them.

It is my belief that muslims as well as all people from other religions should understand the local culture and try to integrate in to the society.

When in Rome do as the romans is an old saying.

Hindus believe in the caste sytem, reincarnation, chakra and nirvana which forces the hindu to tolerate many things. The leaders of the hindu religion forces these believes upon its people in order to control its population. I believe this is why many hindus convert into buddhism or move to the western world were no such faith exist.

Free the casteless hindus from their prison.

The fanatical jews believe they are the chooen people by Jahve and therefore sets temselves above all other people. No wonder there is no piece in the middle-east region when fanatival jews and fanatical muslims are trying to negotiate.

I belive we need more shamans with wisdom and knowledge in the world to bring enlightment and understanding to the population of our planet.

Free our spirits.

In a some sort of way,you make me bored here...
We hear things like this all time.
Do you really think everyone can be one own`s shaman,is that what you originally was asking?
To be a shaman(at least today)takes time and compassion and maybe some time away from "real life"??
It`s not something you can just do like a quick fix inbetween Dagsrevyen og "Skal vi danse?"
It is a way of living and learning and observing, and if everyone sholud do that, community would have to be changed abit?  or?

Maybe was religion a way of setting an earlier shamanism/animism into a kind of system,so that kingdoms could be built, things done without too much huzzing and buzzing?

love,but not peace
GjenopprettetMedlem
Im sorry if I make you bored here but I believe it is an important issue how the religious leaders are dictating peoples lifes and no I dont believe everybody can be a shaman.

As I stated, a shaman can bring a lot of enlightment and understanding among people on this planet.

When i/you look at muslims in general, don`t you think most of them are their very own dictator in a way?
I must admit that i cannot speach about this without loads of prejudices. It makes me angry and aggressive. What about you?

I have always been very curious about when and why the first shaman turned into a kind of priest...
Because I think that is what happened.
And it will happen, over and over again, untill we are totally aware of the fact.
GjenopprettetMedlem
I agree with you that many muslims have a dictator in their soul but I dont believe the priests are shamans because then the world and the religions within it would look different.

I have a lot of experience with muslims who I believe, if I have understood their faith corectly, are trying to take over the world.

Peace and love to you.

I said shamans who turned into priests(in distant past). Not opposite.
The muslims want to take over the world, you say... do you mean the people or the religion??
And a lot of people have had dreams about conquering the world..so what?
Is one of them worse than another? Per-spectively,I mean..
GjenopprettetMedlem
Atheism and humanism are faiths that only believe in what they can see. They have no conection with their soul or the spirit world. I meet many of these souls where I live.

Im trying to inform them that they have a soul and about the spirit world.

Peace and love.
GjenopprettetMedlem
So what do they say?
And what about the fundalmental religious? Do you talk with them too?
GjenopprettetMedlem
Most fundamental religious people believe in one and only way to heaven. I have been exposed to many fundamental religious people.

I remember once I educated 15 muslim Somalies in the swedish culture, It was an impossible job. They wanted to keep their culture and choose not to be integrated in the western culture.
GjenopprettetMedlem
I remember being in one of the mosks here in sweden trying to understand the fundamental muslims. I learned  lot about their faith and how they separated the women from the men and their hard core belief in the words of the imam. I think it is imposible for many people to understand Bin Ladens missionary work.

Fundamentals against fundamentals will alwys end in war.

Let the world-drum drum for all the fundamenals to awaken.

Peace and love.
GjenopprettetMedlem
Now the politicians in Sweden are thinking about starting an imam school sponsored by the swedish government in order to spread the fundmental muslim faith even further in this country.

I have heard of man swedes who have converted to islam and have become fundamental mulims.

I respect all religions as long as they practise it in peace with love and without any missionay work.

Dilalog and education is the only way to bring harmony between religions.

I believe a shaman can do alot in this process.

I think quite a lot of muslims will be sad to hear that you link Bin Laden directly to their belief. :w00t:
But I also see the danger in every europeen country,in alienating, discriminating and isolating theese youngsters, that
they can easily become terrorists.
Not by beliefs really, but more by anger.
The sad thing about terrorism today,is that the people we try to talk(or bomb) "to sense",is the same as them we suppressed hard back in history.
History is a living thing for many people.
Its a really evil spirit.

You talk about dialoque, but say the muslim somalis you met in Sweden were impossible to influence.
What then?
Hardcore dervish-dancing classes on "blue perscription"?
GjenopprettetMedlem
My approach was to give them children books about western culture to read since they were mostly analphabets.
GjenopprettetMedlem
And?
It slightly amuses me to read this, since western culture, medicine, religion etc sucks so much in other respects here on the sone.
What is good integration really about you think?
GjenopprettetMedlem
They went home as analphabetic fundamentalistic muslims to their families with some knowledge of the western world.
